All professional therapists are expected to work to high ethical and practical standards. As a busy therapist it can be difficult to keep up to date with current requirements. The FHT has developed a Code of Ethics and Professional Practice that enables our members to have a common guide to excellence in professional conduct and practice, and to meet and even exceed the expectations of clients.
The FHT is committed to reviewing the Code of Ethics regularly to ensure best practice by members. In applying for membership, members of FHT are voluntarily agreeing to abide by the contents of this Code and any amendments or additions in the future.
The Code of Ethics includes information about:
l Acting in the best interests of your clientsl Taking responsibility for your actionsl Practising within your competencyl Confidentialityl Practising within the lawl Maintaining high standards of hygienel Developing your knowledge and skills
The Code of Ethics is available to purchase as a printed copy or on disk. You can download it free of charge from the Members’ Area of the website.
In addition to the Code of Ethics you can also apply for a CRB Disclosure to further enhance your professional status.
