Christine Fisk, a former Vice-president of the FHT, trained as an aromatherapist and reflexologist in the early 1990s and when her confidence, experience and clientele grew she set up her own business in 1994. As the businesses expanded, Christine found that public knowledge of complementary therapies was limited, and so started to deliver talks in this area.
As the complementary industry has grew, Christine's teaching and practical skills were in demand, and in 1999, she worked full-time at a local College of Further Education as Salon Area Leader in Holistic Therapies.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Christine has worked hard to improve the image and educate people on complementary therapy. Between 2004 and 2007, she worked in partnership with other colleges on the first ever foundation degree in aromatherapy in the North East of England.
In 2007, Christine used her extensive experience and knowledge to set up a training company called Ethos (Education, Training, Health and Online Service Ltd), which delivers a wide range of complementary health therapy courses accredited with FHT, IFPA and VTCT. In addition, from 2004 until the present day she has a private clinic and continues to enjoy helping people achieve a sense of health and wellbeing.
Christine runs an FHT accredited course in Remedial Massage (for more information, visit fht.org.uk/accreditation)
