Colchester local group

This group supports the many therapists located in the North of Essex and Suffolk area. We began in February 2019 and the group has steadily grown. In order to reach as many as possible we hold a Monday morning group starting at 10am until 12.30pm in Layer-de-la-Haye, near Colchester and a Thursday evening group meeting in Stanway starting at 7.30pm to 10pm. Meetings are held bi monthly or as near to that time scale as possible. Being based in North Essex we can feel a little cut off from things as we are closer to the Suffolk border, than central Essex and its great to have something for the locally based members to attend and so far, as well as people based in Colchester and Tendring, we have attracted visitors from Cambridge and Haverhill. Everyone is welcome!

Topic: Penny Reid - Therapist and Greenpeace Speaker

Penny offers therapies in healing and mindfulness and is also a qualified HR Practitioner. She joined the local Greenpeace Group after supporting the End Ocean Plastics Campaign and is keen to share information with her fellow therapists about issues and activities she is passionate about, raising awareness and hoping to inspire others to become more involved with helping the planet. With informed choices and solutions we can care for ourselves, each other, all sentient beings and the world we live in, preserving our peaceful and beautiful earth.

The amount of waste across the earth is shocking, so this informative talk will discuss how you can make a difference by reducing your carbon footprint and use of plastics by switching to sustainable products.

Date: Monday 4 November 2019
Time: 10am - 12:30pm
Venue: Layer Village Small Hall, New Cut, Layer-de-la-Haye, Colchester, CO2 0EH
Topic: Open session to share our favourite techniques, topics or treatments

Come along to the last meeting of the year and enjoy a chance to share your favourite techniques, topic or treatment. Each person can demonstrate their most loved or successful technique they use in their treatments or what works for them. I (Miranda Welton) will open with one of my favourites - Auricular Energy. It's great for neck pain, tension and helping alleviate headaches. It's even been known to improve a golfer’s handicap! Depending on time we will be able to share four to five separate 15 minute sessions before and after the tea break or if we want to carry out 5 minute sessions, then we can fit in many more. So, if you have something you love to do or have done to you - please let me know and I’ll add it into the meeting timetable. If there are too many, we will carry some over to a future meeting. Your choice can be demonstrated on one person, or the whole group can take part, or you can just speak about it or show us. So let’s enjoy our last session before the New Year so please feel free to bring along cakes etc to share.
