Colchester local group

This group supports the many therapists located in the North of Essex and Suffolk area. We began in February 2019 and the group has steadily grown. In order to reach as many as possible we hold a Monday morning group starting at 10am until 12.30pm in Layer-de-la-Haye, near Colchester and a Thursday evening group meeting in Stanway starting at 7.30pm to 10pm. Meetings are held bi monthly or as near to that time scale as possible. Being based in North Essex we can feel a little cut off from things as we are closer to the Suffolk border, than central Essex and its great to have something for the locally based members to attend and so far, as well as people based in Colchester and Tendring, we have attracted visitors from Cambridge and Haverhill. Everyone is welcome!

Ocean Spa (Salt) Lamps with Dathan Berry from Solrox Ocean Spa (Spa Therapy Crystal Lamps) will be giving a talk with demonstrations to show the process of using his therapeutic products and how this therapy can be used in diagnostics and treatments. Ocean Spa Therapy has been in development for over fifteen years with therapists based on observations and theories about how the ocean heals a wide range of simple and complex health issues, naturally and safely. Dathan will also explain the complex science in simple to understand analogies. So, come along and increase your knowledge of how this therapy can immediately benefit your practice and how it’s used in treatments. Its called ‘The Healing Power of the Sea’. Learn why the ocean is a complex chemistry of our biology and the reason marine mammals that we are evolved from don’t suffer the same land-based illnesses and infections that affect us, why they repair quickly and suffer less pain. “Some say it’s a miracle, some say its magic, some say its changed their life!"

Topic: An insight into my work at Helen Rollason Cancer Charity with Elaine Harrison

Come and join us for a lovely group meeting and to hear Elaine Harrison sharing with us an insight into her work within a local Cancer Support Centre - Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and in a Chemotherapy Day Unit - Mid Essex Hospital Trust Charity. What training was needed and how those opportunities arose. Elaine will explain how she stumbled into complementary therapies purely by accident. A part time reflexology course led to a Degree in Complementary Medicine. A series of events lead to a work placement at a cancer charity. Being in the right place at the right time landed her a part time position in the charity and later on, another opportunity in the chemotherapy suite at the local hospital. If Cancer Support is an area of interest, Elaine will give some suggestions on how to develop your initial qualification and provide some handouts to help with terminology used in a cancer setting. Please bring own refreshments as we have no kitchen facilities.
