Local groups are supported by the FHT. They are run by therapists for therapists, and offer a valuable hub to network with like-minded people, gain CPD points and learn from interesting topics within the holistic therapy sector.

The group coordinators are dedicated FHT members, who organise fun and engaging meetings to help support and teach their local therapy community.

Why should I become a coordinator?

Creating your own Local Support Group (LSG) is a rewarding role. Full support is given by the FHT and Lead Coordinator, Ali Brown.

There are some fantastic benefits to creating your own group including:

  • Free FHT membership for the entirety of your role* - saving £85 per year.
  • Funding for your first two group meetings
  • Mentoring and support provided by FHT's Lead Coordinator, Ali Brown
  • Exclusive marketing supplies, to help with marketing your group
  • Access to the private LSG Coordinator Facebook group for help and support
  • Free access to the FHT Annual Training Conference
  • To be part of a growing network of inspiring, like-minded people

*Comes into place after six months of being accepted as a coordinator. Insurance fees still apply.

As long as you have been a therapist for over five years, an FHT member for at least one year and are insured to practise (either with the FHT or a third party provider), then the opportunity is there for you.

Hearing from someone who has first-hand experience can give you a better idea of what to expect as a coordinator. Here's what Carole Roberts, Coordinator of the Wrexham local group, has to say about her role:

“As a local group Coordinator, I believe the local network provides invaluable support for therapists who often work in isolation. The group meetings and regular contact give all therapists local to me the opportunity to network, share concerns and successes, and attend interesting talks.”
