Topic: Mindful Eating with Lisa Beasley of My Body Positive

Lisa is the owner and founder of Bristol based company 'My Body Positive' and is also a Body Image Movement Global Ambassador. My Body Positive provides a holistic approach to the complex issue of weight and our relationship with our bodies. Traditional approaches to 'weight management' rely on slimming clubs or dieting which focus on the symptoms not the cause. However, My Body Positive works by focusing on the person as a whole. The approach is non-diet, and looks at what drives a persons eating habits in order to facilitate behaviour change from a place of selfcompassion. Lisa helps women learn to eat mindfully and to improve their relationship with food and themselves. This results in increased well being and self esteem and improved self care behaviours. Lisa provides Mindful Eating and Body Image coaching to women individually or in small groups and is on a mission to help women stop dieting!

This talk is relevant to anyone who is or knows or works with any body who is stuck in a negative cycle with their relationship with food and their body image. So, anyone who is dieting, yo-yo dieting and also people who are in an overeating cycle.

We will explore diet culture and image culture and how this impacts on our self esteem.

Lisa’s talk is crucial for those working in the health, beauty and wellbeing sector to enable greater understanding of your clients and possibly yourselves!

With origins in both Tai Chi and Chi Kung, the TMW sequence distils elements of these arts into a simplified form. Completing the TMW series of moves and gestures takes just 10 minutes. And the beauty of TMW is that it can be practised both seated and standing, making its benefits accessible to all.

Marigold will introduce you to the sequence and lead a discussion about the origins of the sequence and its many applications; from rehabilitation and managing long term health conditions to stress-relief programmes.
