Topic: Holistic movement for everyone with Amanda Evans

MMM is a method of dance and exercise that supports the body’s natural movement without injury. From our first steps well into adult hood. Within each move there is a co-ordinated breath and a contraction and release of muscles. The method focuses on every part of the body, its suppleness, strength, co-ordination and balance. And because it is dance as well as movement, there is the opportunity to play with expression and creativity, empowering the exercises by working somatically, bringing the potential for healing of old embodied patterns. Margaret Morris was a pioneer in movement, creativity and the arts, she led a bohemian life, she was a visionary and also rather ‘racy’. Her shows were often performed in the nude to artists and writers such as Picasso and Hemmingway in the South of France in the 1920’s. So please do join me as I take you through the stories of how her legacy was created and continues globally to this day. I will show you some exercises to limber and mobilise the spine (very simple) expand your breath and improve your posture. Key things for us therapists too. There is absolutely no previous dance experience required and is TOTALLY inclusive. Wear something you can move comfortably in as I take you through a couple of her simple exercises for you to experience.  Suppleness in body – Strength in movement – Creative in mind.
