Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) - about usSarah Adams - Membership and Insurance Assistant Manager

Sarah started work at FHT in June 2000 when she was just 16 years old. She started out as a membership officer while doing her NVQ in Business Administration. She then took over the running of the catalogue in 2002. While at FHT Sarah completed a Body Massage course at Eastleigh College and enjoys treating friends and family. After going on maternity leave in October 2007 Sarah has since returned to FHT and works part-time as part of the Membership team.
Favourite therapy: reflexology  

Bev Bartlett - Membership and Insurance Manager

Bev started work for HSBC when she left school and worked in numerous branches and area offices, gaining 23 years of valuable experience in customer care. She joined FHT in June 2003 to escape the demands of the financial world and to adopt a more holistic working practice, which works well around her family. Bev has a 16 year-old son, so much of her time and interest is dedicated to his education and well-being. She enjoys being able to bring her interest in education into the FHT membership office and be able to provide useful advice to members.

Becky Blake - Membership and Insurance Officer

Becky joined the FHT in February 2015 with over 8 years’ experience in customer service roles. She is also a qualified beauty therapist, bringing a wealth of information to her new role. Becky likes to keep active, enjoying mountain biking in her spare time. Her relaxing activities include baking and spending time with friends.

Heidi Hinton - Education Assistant

After graduating with a degree in Education Studies, Heidi worked at University of Winchester where she organised employability events for the university’s students. Heidi joined the FHT in 2017 and works within the education department. She is enjoying being able to relate her studies to her role as well as helping members undertake further learning and their Continuing Professional Development. Outside of work Heidi likes spending time with her friends and family, has a love for music and enjoys some retail therapy!

Jade Dannheimer - Marketing Manager

After graduating with a degree in business and a professional diploma in marketing, Jade worked in marketing roles for a government department, a charity and a marketing agency before joining the FHT. Jade works to raise the profile of the FHT and its members, to support the needs of members and keep them informed of the latest membership and therapy news, and to ensure regular touchpoints with therapists throughout their therapy career.

Jayne Eckton - Membership and Insurance Officer

 

Matt Furner - IT Systems Manager

After finishing school Matt studied for a GNVQ in Information Technology, having achieved this Matt Joined FHT in October 1998 as a Modern Apprentice to study for an NVQ in Business Administration and IT key skills. Since completing this he has worked in different areas of FHT including Membership, Accounts, Catalogue, Marketing and now works as the IT Systems Manager. Outside of work Matt enjoys Football, Golf and socialising with Friends.

Holly Hearn - Marketing Executive

A childhood spent exploring the forests and streams of rural Appalachia instilled in Holly a lifelong passion for the great outdoors. Since those early days, she has worn many varied hats: archivist, musician, locomotive engineer. She developed her background in marketing and events management at a railway museum in Atlanta, where she ran car shows, Halloween festivals, and big budget film productions. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, board games, documentaries, and anything that gets her back into nature.

Holly joined the FHT in 2017 to dedicate herself to the Local Support Groups and the Ambassadors Project.

Julie McFadden - Registrar and Compliance Manager

Julie worked in various roles in the insurance industry, from claim assessor to management, for 23 years. In 2000, Julie took the opportunity to study complementary healthcare therapies and ran her own business from 2001 to 2006. She then became a lecturer in complementary therapies at Chichester College, covering all aspects of business, from starting your own business to health and safety.

Her new role at FHT allows her to combine both her insurance and complementary therapies experience. Julie ensures that FHT's Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register meet the required standards and that FHT is compliant in its role as an insurance broker, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Kiah Myatt - Deputy Registrar and Compliance Officer

Kiah originally joined the FHT in September 2011 as a Marketing Executive in charge of Education and Events. After her departure from the company in May 2013 and a year and a half of developing her skills, she has returned in the capacity of Deputy Registrar and Compliance Officer, working alongside Registrar and Compliance Manager, Julie McFadden.

In her free time, Kiah enjoys crafting, silversmithing, reading and baking and is very interested in hair care.

Jane Oldham - Accounts Assistant

I have over 25 years’ experience in banking and administration and worked for HSBC Bank for 16 years. I am married with 2 children and enjoy spending my free time with the family. I also love reading, knitting and crochet.

John Parsons - Financial Controller

John worked with Winchester Growers for over 12 years and joined the FHT team in 2004 as Financial Controller. He enjoys games of darts and golf and is an avid Southampton FC fan. John is also a Pub quiz fanatic and has hosted quiz nights for the staff. John has 3 grown sons and lives with his partner Sue.

Daniel Ralls - Deputy Editor

After studying Film and English at the University of Southampton as a mature student, Dan joined the FHT in December 2014. He previously worked as Editor for a local news magazine in Southampton and is an experienced publishing professional, with over eight years’ experience in print media. Dan enjoys writing on a wide range of subjects, including mental health, and is always keen to research interesting new topics. In his spare time he enjoys socialising with friends, creative writing, pub quizzes, travel and both watching and making films.

Susie Smith - Membership and Insurance Officer

 

Laura Thomson - Membership and Insurance Administrator

Laura started working for HSBC when she left school and gained her NVQ in Business Administration while working there. She travelled to Australia for a 6-month break to spend time with family who live there.  Laura worked in the Customer Service industry for over 5 years and joined FHT in January 2010 in a part-time role. On her days off, Laura likes to spend time with her family and friends.

Annie Walling - Personal Assistant to the Board, Human Resources Manager, Accreditation Coordinator

Annie is originally from Kingston, Jamaica but moved to New York, USA at the age of 17. She is a qualified teacher by profession and has also studied business studies in the USA. Since living in the UK Annie has gained many years of experience in vocational therapy training working for VTCT in an educational records capacity. Her valuable experience in both teaching and the therapy education process has meant that Annie has headed the successful FHT accreditation programme since she joined the FHT in 2005.

Karen Young - Communications Manager and Editor

Karen joined the FHT in 1998 as a part-time Features Writer for International Therapist. As well as working for the magazine, she has worn various other 'hats' at FHT over the years - from helping out in membership, to organising and running student make-up competitions hosted at FHT Professional Therapy, Birmingham. Karen has trained in Swedish body massage, Indian head massage and reflexology but only carries out treatments if persuaded to by a needy friend! In her spare time, Karen enjoys reading, socialising with friends, making cards and walking dogs for her local RSPCA animal shelter.
